Make Your Voice Heard

Development of the ForgingPGH comprehensive plan depends on the getting the input of the people who live and work here. During the process to develop the plan, there are three major ways people who live and work in the City can get involved:

  1. Participate in online workshop for scenario planning. Pittsburgh residents will participate in activities to share where they feel development and transportation should be focused. This is part of scenario planning.
  2. Attend open houses. Community members will be invited to open house events, where they can see the collected data and help choose the scenarios that will inform comprehensive plan development.
  3. Attend draft plan public presentation and open house for the final plan. The City of Pittsburgh will hold a public presentation and open house on the plan before it is presented to the Planning Commission for adoption and implementation.

Reviewing background information is a great starting point

People who live or work in the City of Pittsburgh and want to get involved should start by reviewing the Conditions and Trends Report, which shares many of the factors impacting the City’s future. The report highlights how the City has changed, where we are now, and the areas that we can improve on. This report serves as an important resource for the creation of the comprehensive plan.

ForgingPGH Public Engagement

The public engagement process for ForgingPGH aligns with the City’s adopted approach to public participation in the City’s long-range planning process. The Public Engagement Guide outlines a framework for how the City should conduct engagement efforts throughout the planning processes and establishes guidelines for improving the approach to engagement more broadly. The Guide was developed through a collaboration of residents, community organizations, and City Planning. ForgingPGH has set a Public Engagement Plan for engagement specific to this Citywide work.
